INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM POLICY OF THE SANT TOMÁS SOCIAL GROUP

Sant Tomàs is a group of non-profit social initiative organisations in the county of Osona whose mission is to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities or developmental difficulties and their families.  

We want to be a person-centred organisation that collaborates with society and works in a network to provide quality support that promotes the empowerment of people and sustainable development through the instruments and spirit of the social and solidarity economy. Its territorial scope is Osona and Lluçanès.

In order to achieve its mission and with the aim of guaranteeing the continuity of the project defined in its strategic lines, Sant Tomàs, with the leadership of the organisation's management, is committed to the implementation, maintenance, periodic review and certification of an integrated management system (IMS) based on quality and continuous improvement (ISO 9001), health and safety at work (ISO 45001), respect for the environment (ISO 14001) and food safety (ISO 22000), in the activities carried out in the different areas of the organisation.

The policy of the integrated management system of Sant Tomás is based on two principles: compliance with all applicable regulations and compliance with other commitments subscribed voluntarily with the aim of satisfying the interests, needs and expectations of all the stakeholders of the entity.

In order to develop these management principles and in accordance with the values that guide the entity, the following commitments have been adopted:

  • To put in the centre the person with intellectual disabilities and his family as they are the reason of being of Sant Tomàs and the central axis of the activities of the entity.
  • To develop an organisational culture based on continuous improvement and excellence in order to safeguard the quality of life of people with disabilities in all its dimensions. This culture must allow to obtain a positive impact on those significant personal aspects through good practices.
  • Ethics, as an element of identity of all the members involved in the development of the mission of Sant Tomàs.
  • Integrate and apply sustainable development criteria, guaranteeing the company's commitment to the environment and the appropriate management of resources and waste. The objective is to improve energy efficiency and minimise as much as possible the environmental impact that may be generated by the activity carried out, complying with all the legal provisions in force and other regulations that are voluntarily subscribed to.
  • To guarantee health and safety in all activities carried out by both the company's own staff and those of collaborating companies, fostering a preventive culture that promotes the anticipation of possible repercussions and oriented towards compliance with occupational risk prevention regulations, as well as exceeding the minimum legal requirements, achieving the maximum possible efficiency within the process of continuous improvement of occupational health and safety conditions.
  • To develop and implement a food safety culture to prevent and detect any deviation that may affect the safety, quality and legality of the products, following the food safety policy. The members of Sant Tomás are informed and trained on the need to comply with all reference regulations and legislation on food safety.

This SGI policy is available to everyone, and is communicated to all people working at Sant Tomás and its stakeholders.
